A Radical Change

Yeahhh, looks like I'm about to undergo such a change.

I just got a job at Wal-Mart...the night shift; but it pays good. I don't know my exact hours yet, but the guy said 10pm to 7am, which would be nine hours, and given an hour break, could very possibly be my schedule. This means that I need to change my internal clock....about a 180 if you will, as I'll have to sleep during the day.

I did some math, and figure that I need to sleep at least 8 hours, so to make it work, my schedule will be something like the following: wake up at 5-6pm, go to sleep around the time I get off work, so maybe 8-9am.

So, that's pretty different from my current schedule of waking up around 10-11am and going to sleep around 12-1am.

Kinda lame, as I'll be sleeping the best parts of the day away, but I figure I can always wake up earlier if need be to do whatever, as I'm young and resilient. We'll see what happens. I figure the first day will require me to stay up for at least 24 hours so I go to sleep at the necessary time. I just need a good video game to make that happen. Fun times ahead.

So, I've been doing it for a week now...not so bad at all actually. It works out nicely, although I kind of wish I didn't have to work so much, as I could use a bit more free time, especially as I am soon going to be getting a ton of games I need to review, but oh wells. I'll manage.

Just a random comment, I've read a few studies lately that have said that 6 and a half to 7 hours of sleep a night is ideal. According to the study, over 8 hours of sleep a day will increase your chance of brain disease. I would post the study, but I have no idea where I found it. If you're interested I'm sure you could google it.
